Before

There is no seating facing the TV, fireplace, and windows, which are the focal points of the room and the furniture is not grouped together properly allowing for conversation in this family room. There is insufficient light with there being only one lamp, and the plants are placed haphazardly throughout. The mantle is cluttered and detracting from the beauty of the wood molding. There is too much weight on the right side of the room leaving the room unbalanced, and lacking continuity..

After

A conversation grouping was created with the seating placed around the focal point of the room. Additional artificial lighting was provided, although one more lamp would be ideal since there is no ceiling light. The mantle was de-cluttered and simple accessories were added, but not enought to detract from it. The room is now balanced with the use of accessories, beautiful live plants, and pictures creating subtle changes of highs and lows in order to keep the eye moving around the room.
